HUACA PUCLLANASurrounded by modern buildings, Huaca Pucllana—meaning “place to play” in Quechua—was a ceremonial and administrative center built by the Lima people. These were the first settlers of the area, long before the arrival of the conquistadors, and the site was later inhabited by various coastal and Andean civilizations.
